My first post...

Well, at the urging of my friends, here I am, putting myself out into cyberspace. My husband, Peter, and I have been married about a year and a half and are expecting our first child in February. Today I am nine weeks along, and so happy to know that my little one is growing and thriving! Last week was my first appointment with the midwives, and I had an ultrasound. Seeing our little one for the first time made a few happy tears slip out, and I couldn't stop grinning for the rest of the day.

Currently, morning sickness is giving me some misery (actually, for me, the worst time of the day is late afternoon, but "late afternoon sickness" doesn't have quite the same ring to it), but the exhaustion is the most surprising this to me. Years ago, my mom once told me that I was like the Energizer bunny (that day, at least!), just go, go, go and no stopping. Well, no more of that! Seems like every afternoon around 4:00, someone pops my batteries out. Ha!

I should note here that we have four well-loved and spoiled cats: Balerion (who is solid black and long-haired... also the comedian), Turin (a fat and happy gray tabby with white markings), Milo (plain gray tabby, somewwhat neurotic, very needy, but also quite loving) and Nienor (the only girl; she hates cats and lives in our bedroom away from the rest). The kitties seem to enjoy my daily need for a nap, with at least one of them cuddling up with me while I rest each day. :)

I'm sure I will come up with more to post later, but here is at least a start! :)

Blessings~

  1. Okay - so where did you come up with these cat names? I am so curious. We used to name our cats after the fruits of the spirit - which had no bearing whatsoever on their personalities since they seemed to always take on the antithesis of their name. Joy was snotty and attacked anyone who dared to defile her with petting....and Charity was arrogant and was positive she was the second Queen of Sheba. I love cats - they are so full of personality (not to mention themselves!)
